Cowgirls advance, TU loses playoff, OU 8th in NCAA regionals
The Oklahoma State women’s golf team concluded play at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional on Wednesday, finishing in third place to punch its ticket to the NCAA Championship for the sixth year in a row.
The Cowgirls closed with a 3-over 283 to bring their weekly total to 848 (+8). OSU finished 13 shots behind first-place Texas and just two behind runner-up North Carolina.
Marta Silchenko continued her dominant junior campaign with a 4-under 66, securing her second individual win of the season. Silchenko went 6-under on the week to earn co-champion honors alongside Princeton individual Thanana Kotchasanmanee.
This is the highest finish by a Cowgirl at an NCAA Regional since Maddison Hinson-Tolchard won the Stillwater Regional in May 2022. Silchenko is also the first Cowgirl to win multiple individual titles in a single season since Hinson-Tolchard did so in 2021-22.
Silchenko has now finished top-10 in six consecutive events, tying for the second-longest streak in recorded Oklahoma State women’s golf history. Only Caroline Hedwall, who recorded eight straight top-10 finishes en route to an individual national championship in 2009-10, has more.
Silchenko’s first of five birdies on Wednesday marked her 100th of the year, making her just the fourth Cowgirl ever to record multiple 100+ birdie seasons (Hinson-Tolchard, Kelsey Vines, Pernilla Lindberg). Silchenko recorded 102 as a freshman in 2022-23 and now has 104 this season.
True freshman Yu-Chu Chen turned in an even-par 70 to earn a share of fifth place. Chen played all three rounds in Chapel Hill at par-or-better to earn the third top-10 finish of her freshman season.
Now with 10 rounds at par-or-better this year (including seven in her last nine rounds), Chen is the first Cowgirl freshman to reach the double-digit mark since her teammates Ellie Bushnell (11) and Marta Silchenko (13) each did it in 2022-23.
Tarapath Panya’s third-round 75 (+5) secured her a 28th-place finish at 8-over. Panya’s 8 birdies this week brought her season total to 70, a new career-high.
Ellie Bushnell saved her best round for last, going 2-over to close her week with a 72. Summer Lee ended her week with a 77.
The Cowgirls return to action on May 22 for the NCAA Championship at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, where they’ll look to capture the first national championship in program history.
Tulsa loses NCAA bid in playoff with Tennessee
WACO, Texas — The University of Tulsa women’s golf team concluded its 2025-26 season with a tied for fifth place finish at the NCAA Waco Regional. The Golden Hurricane tied with No. 16 Tennessee at seven-over par 847 before falling in a playoff.
“I’m incredibly proud of the way this team battled all week long,” said coach Mike Roters. “It’s obviously a heartbreaking way to end the season, especially losing in a playoff to a great Tennessee team, but our players fought all the way to the very end. To play our last nine holes at 4-under under that kind of pressure says a lot about the character and toughness of this group. Tennessee made an unbelievable 35-foot putt on the final hole to force the playoff, and from there both teams competed at a really high level. Having the opportunity to play for a spot in the national championship is something we don’t take for granted, and I couldn’t be prouder of our team, our seniors, and the way we represented The University of Tulsa throughout the season.”
No. 21 SMU claimed the NCAA Waco Regional by shooting 17-under par 823 and winning by six shots. No. 4 Texas A&M came in second at 11-under par 829 for the event. Joining these two programs at the NCAA Championships are Baylor, LSU and #16 Tennessee. TCU’s Kirstin Angosta advanced to the final site as the top individual. Angosta finished runner-up at the regional with a score of six-under par 204.

Samantha Olson led the Golden Hurricane during the regional shooting a final round of even-par 70. She had 16 pars, one birdie and a bogey during her final 18 holes. She finished tied for 8th at three-under par 207.
Romaine Masserey had the low score for TU on the final day as she shot one-under par 69. After making the turn two-over par, she caught fire and birdied four of the next five holes. She however had two bogeys before making a four on the final hole. She finished tied for 13th at even-par 210.
Tulsa’s head coach Mike Roters made a change to his lineup on the final day as he subbed in freshman Jeanne Pagnier into the line for Jenni Roller. Pagnier, who made her postseason debut, was two over par on her first nine but rallied off seven straight pars on the back. She closed her round with back-to-back birdies and shoot even-par 70 for the day.
Allyn Stephens finished in a tie for 33rd at the Waco Regional as she was six-over par 216. She started the round with a birdie and had another birdie on 17 however she carded four bogeys and was two-over 72 during the final round.
Zoe Shamy rounded out the Tulsa players on the course. The freshman earned a tied for 44th place finish at 10-over par 220. She was six-over par 76 in the final round of the event.
Sooners end season with eighth-place finish in Ann Arbor
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Oklahoma women’s golf concluded its 2025-26 season on Wednesday with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional.
The 23rd-ranked Sooners finished tied for eighth at 41-over par, 19 strokes outside the top five needed to advance to the NCAA Championships. Oklahoma carded a 15-over 299 in the final round to move up one spot on the leaderboard.
Top-seeded No. 2 USC, Ohio State, No. 10 Duke, Northwestern and Texas Tech claimed the five qualifying spots from the 12-team regional field.
Senior Reagan Chaney led the Sooners in the final round, posting a 4-over 75 to finish tied for 26th individually at 8-over par for the tournament. Savannah Barber closed her Oklahoma career with a 3-over 74 on Wednesday and finished tied for 38th at 13-over overall. Audrey Rischer and Gracie Mayo tied for 35th at 12-over par, with Rischer carding a 5-over 76 in the final round and Mayo posting a 7-over 78. Meg Tilma entered the lineup for the Sooners in the final round in place of Satonkan Earn Thiengsri and recorded a 3-over 74.
Individually, Barber wrapped up one of the most accomplished careers in Oklahoma history as the program’s second-lowest career scorer with a 72.65 average. Chaney finished eighth in program history with a 73.24 career scoring average, while Isabelle Schlick ranks ninth at 73.40. Mayo narrowly missed the program’s top 10 with a 73.74 career average.
Barber, an All-SEC selection this season, also finished tied for sixth in school history with two career victories and ranks third in program history with 53 career rounds at par or better.
