Cowgirls finish ninth in rain-shortened Stanford Intercollegiate
STANFORD, Calif. – Rain pelted the Stanford Golf Course on Sunday and forced the cancelation of the third and final round of the Stanford Intercollegiate with the Oklahoma State women’s golf team in ninth place.
After an opening round 18-over par 302, the Cowgirls rallied on Saturday with a 10-over 294, which helped OSU jump two spots on the leaderboard.
Kenzie Neisen and Linnea Johansson were the biggest forces behind the jump. Neisen posted an even-par 71 on Saturday and finished in a tie for 18th place, while Johansson wasn’t far behind with a 1-over 72, which was good for an eighth-place finish.
UCLA won the rain-shortened team title at 4-over 572, and UCLA junior Bronte Law won her third straight Stanford Intercollegiate individual crown at 7-under 135.
OSU’s Isabella Deilert and Alexis Sadeghy tied for 66th place at 13-over 155, while Chih-Min Chen tied for 76th place at 15-over.
This wraps up the fall season for the Cowgirls. OSU will return to action on Feb. 12 at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif.
