Cowgirls move up five spots at Poppy Hills
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – After a rocky first round, the No. 5 Oklahoma State women’s golf team posted a 7-over 284 to find themselves right back in the mix at the Stanford Intercollegiate.
After carding a 300 in the opening round, the Cowgirls returned to form and jumped five spots on the leaderboard at the Poppy Hills Golf Club. OSU will enter Wednesday’s final round in eighth place.
Freshman Stephanie Astrup took charge for OSU carding a 1-under par 71. Astrup vaulted 23 spots on the leaderboard from 42nd all the way up to 23rd. This is only Astrup’s third tournament as a Cowgirl.
Senior Emma Broze put up an impressive 2-under 35 on the front nine holes and finished the day 1-over par. Broze is currently tied for 29th.
Chih-Min Chen posted a 3-over par 74 and is tied for 23rd, while Alexis Sadeghy finished her second round at 4-over par and is tie for 53rd.
