Oklahoma men’s golf freshman Brad Dalke was named Big 12 Golfer of the Month for November, the conference announced Wednesday.

Dalke was the top finisher for the Sooners in their Ka’anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational win, taking second place individually with a three-round 206 (-7), his career-low 54-hole score. He also recorded his career-best 18-hole score, 66 (-5), in the first round of the tournament.

The Hobart, Okla., native tallied 12 birdies and an eagle for the tournament, carding a 68.67 (-2.33) stroke average. He is the first Sooner to earn the award since teammate Max McGreevy in September 2013.

“It’s an honor to be awarded for my play in November,” Dalke said. “Anytime you get an award like this from the Big 12, it makes you feel like the hard work has paid off. Hopefully I can keep this play up through the spring, especially so I can help the team achieve our goals that we set at the beginning of the year.”

Dalke and the Sooners are back in action Feb. 8-9 (Monday-Tuesday) at the first tournament of their spring season, the UTSA/Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
