Edmond North edges Broken Arrow in Class 6A Preview at Hillcrest CC

Edmond North edged Broken Arrow by a single shot in the Class 6A Preview at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville Thursday, foreshadowing what should be a hotly contested Class 6A state championship when the big schools meet again there to decide the title May 11-12.

Reed Higgins led the Huskies with a 2-under 70, which tied for second. Chase Blaser shot 73, while Giffin Klingman and Jake Mourning each shot 76.

That was enough to hold off Broken Arrow, which had the individual medalist with Porter Hart’s 3-under 69. Defending 6A medalist Jacob Newsom tied for second at 70. Luke Chang shot 77 while Owen Seals and Landon Tetley each shot 80.

Edmond North finished at 295 with Broken Arrow at 296. Another shot back was Bixby at 297, with Owasso fourth at 299 and Deer Creek of Edmond fifth at 301. Only nine shots separated the top seven teams.
