Exciting times for Cozby as Professional of Year honor nears
From coast to coast, Cary Cozby has been experiencing a memorable stretch in his remarkable golfing life.
Last week Cozby was in Bandon Dunes on the Oregon coast for the PGA Professional of the Year Conference, a series of meetings with fellow past and current winners of PGA of America awards. In addition to thoughtful discussions of topics affecting golf courses throughout the country, he was able to enjoy rounds at Pacific Dunes and Old Macdonald.
This week he received copies of the November issue of PGA Magazine with his smiling face on the cover. Cozby, who was named the 2016 PGA Professional of the Year earlier, will go to New York this weekend and will receive his award at the awards dinner of the PGA Annual Meeting on Wednesday.

At least 800 people are expected at the awards gala, many of whom will be family members including father Jerry, who won this same award in 1985 at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, where he was the head professional for 41 years. They are the first father-son duo to win this award. Jerry was inducted in September into the Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame, making this an even more poignant fall for the clan.
