Kale Flinton battled held on through two cool and blustery rounds to wiin the Fall Finale on the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour Sunday at Shawnee Country Club.

Flinton, son of long-time Oklahoma pro Kyle Flinton, shot rounds of 70-74 on the par-71 course for a 2-over total of 144 and then won a playoff with Sameul Bonaobra of Broken Arrow (71-73) and Ian Wilcoxen of Tulsa (72-72). Wilcoxen is also the son of a long-time PGA professional in Brent Wilcoxen.

Flinton’s first round of 70 was the only under par round shot in the tournament, highly unusual for an OJGT event. Logan Mayo of Springdale, Ark., was fourth at 4-over and Collin Bond of Norman placed fifth at 7-over.

In the girls division, Syrah Javed of Norman shot rounds of 74-80 for a 154 total and a six-shot victory over Megan Kalapura of Tulsa (82-78). Tied for third were Harlow Gregory of Norman (89-73) and Natalie Blonien of Altus (84-79). Fifth place was a tie between Lauren Dage of Edmond (91-77) and Layne Ailshie of Fort Gbson (88-80).

It was the third victory of the fall OJGT schedule for Javed and pulled her close behind Blonien for Player of the Year. Blonien has won three events as well.
