During the Memorial Day holiday, The Patriot Golf Club, the headquarters of the military and first responders foundation Folds of Honor, and the adjacent residential communities will become a memorial for American service members and first responders who gave their lives for our country and communities.

Over the three-day weekend, golf club members and residents will have the opportunity to purchase 1,000 American flags with an attached yellow ribbon stating the branch of service, rank, name, date of birth, and date of death of service members and first responders.  The flags will be placed on The Patriot’s grounds and residents’ front lawns, making the entire community a tribute to American heroes.

On Tuesday May 28th employees from Folds of Honor and The Patriot, South Central PGA members and associates along with local patriots will play a Hero 100 Golf Marathon at the course to benefit Folds of Honor. The format is a relay marathon and will be conducted all day; each participant can choose the number of holes he or she plays, from 18 or over 100.

“This is the first time we’ve done an event like this, and it’s only fitting for those individuals and family members who have sacrificed so much,” said Lt Col Dan Rooney, founder and CEO of Folds of Honor. “The money raised will help provide life-changing academic scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military service members and first responders. The individuals participating understanding the importance of an education and are stepping up to do something about it.”

Lt Col Rooney will be among the participants in the first-year event.
