CLAREMORE, Okla. – Three Rogers State women’s golf’s student-athletes and one male have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® At-Large team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The 2024 Academic All-District® At-Large teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances across 14 different sports and in the classroom. To qualify for this honor, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically or be a transfer student with at least a 3.50 GPA. For golf, recipients must have competed in 70 percent of the team’s total events that were team scoring events (competing as an individual does not count).

Marelda Ayal played in all 13 team events during the season while Brianna Maddux played in 12 events and Kristin Gudmundsdottir played in 10 events. All three were critical pieces in the Hillcats success during the year as they led RSU to a second place finish at the MIAA Championships (tied for the highest finish since joining the league) and a third place finish at the NCAA Central Region Championships, which earned them a berth to the NCAA Division II National Championships for the third time in four years.

For the men’s team,  Elliot-Han Monteremal competed in all 11 team events during the season and earned an individual berth to the NCAA Division II National Championship after he finished seventh at the Midwest/Central Regional Championship with a card of 205 (-5) over the three rounds. Additionally, the senior posted five top 15 finishes during the season with three finishes in the top 10.

CSC was founded in 1957 and is a 3,200-plus member national organization comprised of the sports public relations, media relations and communications/information professionals throughout all levels of collegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The second oldest management association in all of intercollegiate athletics, CSC became an affiliated partner with NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) in December of 2008. CSC has been the proud provider of the Academic All-America® Program and Hall of Fame since 1952.
