Four-State Championship canceled due to virus quarantine rules

There will be no Four-State Championship this year and thus no title defense for the 2019 champion Oklahoma team. The annual event between teams from the women’s golf associations in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri was scheduled Aug. 2-4 at Canyon Farms Golf Club in Lenexa, Kan., but Kansas is currently requiring visitors from Arkansas to quarantine for 14 days due to that state’s spike in Covid-19 cases.

That led to the decision by tournament organizers to pull the plug for 2020 rather than try to reschedule amidst all the uncertainty as positive virus numbers in three of the four states are trending up, with Missouri being the lone exception.

Oklahoma is the two-time defending champion in the event.
