The City of Woodward, Oklahoma and Dunn Golf Management Company (“DGMC”) announced the hiring of Sean Galaway as the next General Manager and Golf Course Superintendent at Boiling Springs Golf Club. He will join the Boiling Springs team in mid-February.
After a nationwide search, Sean emerged as the superior candidate to continue Boiling Springs’ positive trajectory, both in terms of playing conditions and operational results, established under long-time superintendent Jeff Wagner, who is now the superintendent at Stillwater Country Club, Dunn said. Wagner will remain on the DGMC management team as a consultant going forward.
Galaway comes to Boiling Springs after an extensive career with Troon Golf, the world’s largest golf course management company. Sean most recently served as superintendent of the Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort south of St. Augustine, Florida. Golf Digest recently ranked the Conservatory Course as the 52nd best course in Florida and 11th in Florida among courses you can play.
Having spent the last 25 years in Florida, Sean is excited to return to the Midwest, having grown up in Kansas, where he graduated from Kansas State’s Turf Management Program and having family in the Wichita area.
His wife and three children will join him in Woodward after school is out this spring.
