Girls Championship Roundup: Jenks, Herman poised for 6A titles, Turner shoots low round in 2A

First round 6A results:

Lisa Herman

With a balanced team effort, Jenks built a 24-shot lead over Edmond North Monday at Meadowbrook Country Club, while fantastic freshman Lisa Herman was the only player in the 73-girl field to break par with a 2-under 70.

Her teammate Lily Stanton is Jenks’ lone senior. She sits in second place after shooting a 75. Sophia Lefler and Isabella Suttee shot 79s, giving Jenks four of the nine golfers to finish in the 70s on Wednesday.

Edmond Memorial (329) sits in third, while Broken Arrow, Norman North and Stillwater are tied for fourth at 339.

Stillwater’s Lucy Darr is tied for third in the individual race after shooting a 76. She’s knotted with Norman North’s Syrah Javed.

JJ Gregston

Class 5A results:

Led by JJ Gregston’s 69, Duncan holds a slim four-shot led over Bishop Kelley in the team race at Dornick Hills CC in Ardmore, while defending champion Natalie Blonien of Altus is two shots back in the individual race after a 71.

Class 4A results:

Layne Ailshie of Fort Gibson shot 73 and leads London Wilson of Ada by two shots in a tightly packed leaderboard at Prairie West Golf Course. Ada leads the team race by 6 shots over Bishop McGuinness.

Class 3A results

Marlow leads Heritage Hall by a single shot in Class 3A at Lake Murray Golf Course. Ellee Standlee of Prague shot 78 and leads Megan Kalapura of Holland Hall by a shot.

Class 2A results:

With the top four individuals led by defending champion Jaci Hartman’s 69, Turner built a massive 64-shot lead at Falconhead Resort. Turner’s 297 was the best team score in all classes. Josi Cavitt shot 71, Hope Hill 78 and Braylee Foster 79 for Turner.
