Gooch, Gellerman, Kropp advance to final stage in Web.com Tour qualifying
Talor Gooch of Midwest City shot a final-round 7-under 65 to finish tied for seventh at 17-under in a second stage qualifier for the 2017 Web.com Tour at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas on Saturday.
Gooch is one of 22 players who will advance from this event to the final stage Dec. 8-11 in Orlando. There were five second-stage tournaments across the country.
Michael Gellerman of Sterling, Kan., who recently concluded his college career at the University of Oklahoma, also tied for seventh after a final-round 70. Kevin Dougherty, a fomer Oklahoma State golfer, shot 69 in the final round to finish at 15 under and tied for 13th. Will Kropp of Edmond also shot a 3-under 69 in the final round and advanced on the number at 14 under.
One shot shy of moving on was Dillon Rust of Edmond, who shot 13 under and tied for 22nd despite a final-round 67. Former OU golfer Hunter Haas shot an even-par 72 in the final round and tied for 44th at 9 under. Trent Whitekiller of Sallisaw tied for 58th at 5 under and Cameron Meyers of Edmond finished 70th at 1 under.
In earlier second stage events, former University of Tulsa golfer Chris Worrell of Jenks and former University of Central Oklahoma golfer Josh Creel of Edmond also advanced to the final stage.
