Gough paces OCU Stars in Jackrabbit Invitational

BOULDER CREEK, Nev. – Natalie Gough supplied Oklahoma City University by placing among the top 20 of the South Dakota State Jackrabbit Invitational on Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Course.
Gough, a freshman from Bixby, Okla., held a piece of 17th place after 54 holes. The Stars, ranked 15th among NAIA women’s golf, finished in front of two NCAA Division I teams with a 10th-place showing.
Gough tallied an 80-76-82–238 on the par-72, 6,322-yard course. Gough recorded par 33 times throughout the tournament. OCU posted a 336-326-319–981.
Oklahoma City’s Melissa Eldredge topped the tournament field by sinking 11 birdies. Eldredge drained four birdies, including one on the par-5, 508-yard 14th hole Tuesday. Eldredge, a junior from Eufaula, Okla., produced an 82-82-77–241.
Lauryn Pritchard nailed five birdies of her six birdies in the tournament during the final round. Pritchard, a freshman from Allen, Texas, put together an 81-85-76–242 for the Stars.
McKenzie McCoy, a sophomore from Beggs, Okla., contributed a 95-83-84–262, and Regan McQuaid, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., had a 93-93-98–284. OCU entered Lauren Behnken, who shot 79-87-83–249, as an individual.
The Stars return to action in the Houston Baptist Husky Invitational on March 18-19 at Riverbend Country Club in Sugarland, Texas.
