Gudgel fires 64 to take command of OGA Senior Stroke Play Championship

Eric Gudgel welcomed the competitors in the Oklahoma Golf Association Senior Stroke Play Championship to his home course with a nifty 6-under-par 64 to take command of the 36-hole tournament.

Gudgel, who made seven birdies against one bogey, leads 25-time OGA champion Mike Hughett of Owasso by five shots. At 1-under, Hughett was the only other player in the field to break par.

Lewis Stephenson of Edmond shot 4-under 66 to take a three-shot lead in the Super Senior division (golfers 65-and-over). Terry Hughes of Bartlesville is second at 1-under followed by Scott McGhee of Tulsa at even-par 70.
