Herman leads new AJGA event at Indian Springs

Lisa Herman of Jenks shot 3-under-par Tuesday and is tied for the lead after the first round of the AJGA Junior at Indian Springs Country Club.

The new AJGA event was brought to Broken Arrow by ISCC Director of Golf Lance Allen who had a long relationship with the junior tour when he was the general manager at Twin Hills CC in Joplin, Mo.

Play will continue through Thursday in the 54-hole event for boys and girls. Allen said there are 10 states and five countries represented in the field.

Herman is tied with Addison Bandelier of Austin, Texas and Quinn Timmerman of Boerne, Texas. Another shot back in fourth place is Megan Kalapura of Tulsa, who shot a 2-under and is tied for fourth. Dia Singh of Bixby shot even-par 72 and is tied for seventh.

Also from Oklahoma, Kate Moore of Tulsa is tied for 15th at 4-over.

In the boys division, Ish Modi of Flower Mound, Texas, shot a 5-under 67 to take the lead. Tyler Robertson of Stillwater and Nathan Brown of Tulsa are tied for fifth at 2-under. Complete first round results and live scoring are here.
