Herman, Sands lead locals in Junior PGA Championship first round
Lisa Herman of Jenks shot 3-under par 68 Tuesday at Hot Springs Country Club and was tied for seventh after the first round of the 2023 Junior PGA Championship. Play continues today for boys and girls with a cut after 36 holes and the final rounds Thursday and Friday.
Sisters Avery and Emerie Schartz of Wichita, who play frequently on the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour, were tied for 10th and tied for 56th, respectively, after rounds of 69 and 73. Megan Kalapura of Tulsa shot 80 and Reagan Plank of Owasso shot 88.
On the boys side, Parker Sands of Edmond shot even-par 71 and was tied for 38th. Will Hennessee and Benton Manly of Tulsa each shot 73 and were tied for 67th.
