Hermann, Coit to meet for WOGA State Amateur Championship
Olivia Coit, a member of the Arkansas State golf team from Edmond, knocked off Reagan Chaney, a University of Oklahoma freshman from Ardmore, 2 and 1 Wednesday to reach the championship match of the Women’s Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship.
Waiting in the finals will be Sydney Hermann of Ponca City, who upset Jenni Roller of Tulsa 2 and 1 in the other semifinal.
Hermann, who starred the last four years at Dalton State College in Dalton, Ga., has reached the final match previously, losing to TU coach Annie Young 6 and 4 in 2020. She finished 2022-23 with a ninth-place finish in the NAIA Championship and was ranked the eighth best player in NAIA by Golfstat.
Coit just finished a successful first season for Arkansas State, where coach M.J. Desbiens Shaw has had great success building a roster which includes key players from Oklahoma.
