Hill wins for OCU, Oklahoma Christian finishes strong

Tres Hill was the medalist as Oklahoma City University placed fourth in the Texas Intercollegiate at Squaw Creek Golf Course in Willow Park, Texas. Hill, who won the Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship in 2021, shot rounds of 71-70-70 to finish at 2-under 211 and one-shot ahead of Hayden Hardwick of Houston-Victoria and Conner Cryer of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

Cryer shot rounds of 71-72-69 to lift USAO to a third-place finish at 869, five shots ahead of OCU. Jax Brewer, Caleb Smith and Cooper Hardison all finished tied for 17th for USAO with scores of 220.

For OCU, Michael Robson tied for 22nd at 221, Bo Robbins tied for 25th at 223, Lorenzo Santinelli and Bosten Benn tied for 32nd at 25. Complete results are here.

Sofia Benavides placed second individually and Maria Torres was third as Oklahoma Christian placed third in the Lone Star Conference Women’s Championship at WinStar Golf Club in Thackerville.

Benavides shot rounds of 72-67-70 to finish at 7-under 209 while Torres was two shots back after rounds of 74-66-71. Haley Blevins tied for 17th, coming back strong from an opening 79 with rounds of 69-71.

Rogers State was in third, Northeastern State in fourth and Central Oklahoma in seventh going into the final round today of the men’s MIAA Championship at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo. Follow final round action here.

Ponca City native Sydney Hermann of Dalton State took the individual lead into the final round of the NAIA SSAC Championship at Cambrian Ridge on the Robert Trent Jones Trail. Live scoring of the final round is here.

The Oklahoma City University women’s team placed second in the Deb Jackson Invitational at The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Ala. Logan Allen placed third individually at 1-under 215 after rounds of 72-70-73. Maddi Kamas finished eighth at 222, shooting rounds of 74-76-72. Paige Wood and Jamie Welsh also finished in the top 20, with Wood tied for 13th and Welsh tied for 19th. Aubrey House tied for 31st. Complete scores are here.
