Chase Hughes of Oklahoma City recorded a second top-five finish in an American Junior Golf Association tournament this spring by taking fifth place in the AJGA Lake Charles Junior Championship which concluded Sunday on the Mallard Golf Club in Lake Charles, La.

Hughes, 13, shot rounds of 70-70-74 for a 2-under total of 214, three shots behind the winner James Holtzclaw of Shreveport, La.

Ben Lathrop of Oklahoma City tied for sixth in the event at 1-under 215 (72-67-76). Another shot back in 12th place was Mason Haley of Enid at even-par 216 (74-70-72). Emerson Majma of Edmond tied for 40th at 226 (73-75-78).

In the girls division, Evyn Cannon of Edmond tied for 12th at 8-over 224 (73-76-75).
