Kinzer aces two holes in same round at KickingBird!
The odds against making two hole-in-ones in the same round are approximately 67 million to one, but that’s exactly what Justin Kinzer of Edmond did at KickingBird Golf Course on Dec. 27.
Kinzer, 57, aced the par-3 sixth from 143 yards with a 7-iron and the par-3 16th from 161 yards with a 23-degree hybrid. In neither case could he see his ball go in the hole on the uphill holes although his playing partners including son Turner saw the first one. His other partners were John Munson and Buck Held.
“On 16, my partners all hit 7 or 8 irons and were short,” Kinzer said. “So I pulled out my hybrid and punched it low. The green has a hill on the right side and it landed there and kicked toward the pin, but I thought it would be over the green. I started walking back there but my son said he would check the hole”
It was the fourth and fifth career ace for Kinzer, a 10-handicap who works at The Baker Group investment firm and notched his third ace as recently as early November in Arizona.
“A pretty exciting day,” said Justin, who shot 79. “It’s a good thing my mother and father-in-law had just come into town or I might still be in the clubhouse buying drinks!”
