Lamar leads ORU Shootout, Golden Eagles third
TULSA, Okla.- After playing 54-holes in perfect conditions on Monday, Lamar (300-299—599) will take an 11-shot lead into the final round of the ORU Shootout, presented by the Bob Hurley Auto Family at Meadowbrook Country Club. Oral Roberts University sits in third at 611 (303-308).
Sofie Kuarnstrom of UALR leads the individual leader board at 148 after a pair of 74s in the first two rounds, sitting one shot ahead of a pack of four golfers tied at 149.
For the hosting Golden Eagles it was Paola Aviles, who strung together late birdies in round one to shoot a tournament-best 70 in the opening round. After an 81 in the second round, Aviles sits in a tie for 7th at 151.
Alejandra Acosta (79-74) and Shinwoo Lee (75-78) are tied with each other at 153 after two rounds, tied for 19th overall. Paty Torres shot 79-76—155 to finish the day tied for 29th, and Alheli Moreno improved five shots after an opening-round 85 and finished the day at 165 (85-80) putting her in a tie for 74th.
Northern Arizona’s Melissa Olson carded the day’s only eagle, while Vanessa Johnson of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi leads the field with six birdies.
The final round of the ORU Shootout will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
