Lane Wallace named Summit League Newcomer of the Year

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts men’s golfer Lane Wallace was named Summit League Newcomer of the Year it was announced by league officials Tuesday.

Wallace led all Summit League golfers with a 71.3 stroke average as he competed in all seven of ORU’s events after transferring from Oklahoma to start the spring semester. He turned in a trio of top-10 finishes as well and shot par or better in 10 of his 19 rounds for the Golden Eagles. He was named to the all-league first team as well.

Wallace tied for ninth at the Summit League Championship with an even-par total of 216 and had his best finish of the season at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate where he finished runner-up with a 36-hole total of 135 (-9). He earned a pair of Ticket Smarter weekly honors in his first season with the Golden Eagles.
