Majidizadeh claims third, ORU sixth, TU seventh in Panther Intercollegiate

Stockbridge, Georgia –– Senior golfer Nadia Majidizadeh finished in third-place Tuesday, while leading the Tulsa Golden Hurricane women’s golf team to a seventh-place performance at the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate.

Majidizadeh, from Tulsa Union High School, carded a final round 77 and finished with a three-round total of 4-over par 220 for her top performance of the season and the fifth top-25 finish this year for the Tulsa senior.

As a team, the Hurricane carded a final round 310 and finished with a 911 score at the par-72 Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia. Eastern Kentucky and Murray State tied for team honors with identical score of 888. Murray State made up a five-stroke deficit on the final day to tie Eastern Kentucky.

Hurricane freshman Greta Bruner finished in 12^th place with a final score of 224 after totaling Tulsa’s best round on Tuesday of 75. Sophomore Anneke Strobach placed 28^th overall with a score of 229, while fellow sophomore Olivia Jackson finished in 55^th place with a 239 total. Junior Nicole Marquardt placed 75^th with a final score of 250.

Freshman Taylor Dobson, who played the tournament as an individual, finished in 68^th place with a score of 246.

Eastern Kentucky’s Elsa Moberly held onto the lead from start-to-finish and completed the 54-hole tournament with a four-under par 212 score.

Tulsa will host the Dale McNamara Invitational on April 10-11, at the Tulsa Country Club, previous host site of the 1999 and 2014 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship.

Oral Roberts finished one shot better in the team standings in sixth place. The Golden Eagles  shot 304 in the final round and finished at 909 (296-309-304) for the tournament. All four ORU golfers finished inside the top 35 for the tournament, with three of the four earning top 20 finishes.

After a solid first two rounds which had her inside the top 40, Annie Lacombe was forced to withdraw from the tournament. ORU earned its sixth top 10 finish of the season.

Beatriz Garcia finished second in the field with 37 pars in 54 holes. Kennedy Ishee was close behind with 35.
