Majidizadeh ready for final semester at TU
Fernandina Beach, Fla. –– The Tulsa women’s golf team will open the spring season this week, Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 20-21, at the 4th Annual Amelia Island Collegiate. The Golden Hurricane is one of 17 teams competing at the 6,029-yard, par-72 Amelia National Golf Club course.
There will be 36 holes played on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday. The teams will tee-off Monday morning in a shotgun start at 8:00 am (ET).
Tulsa’s team will consist of a pair of freshmen Greta Bruner and Taylor Dobson, sophomore Anneke Strobach and seniors Nikki Marquardt and Nadia Majidizadeh.
Participating teams include Bradley, Campbell, Cincinnati, Daytona State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Morehead State, defending champion North Florida, Sam Houston State, Samford, UNC-Asheville, Winthrop and Tulsa.
Tulsa played in five fall tournaments and turned in its best finish of seventh place at the Yale Invitational. Majidizadeh turned in a team-leading 74.3 stroke average in 12 rounds during the fall campaign, while freshman Greta Bruner had a 74.6 stroke average.
