Meacham, Peters, Phillips share lead in South Central PGA Professional Championship
Mark Meacham of the Golf Club of Oklahoma, Austin Peters of The Territory and Tracy Phillips of Cedar Ridge Country Club shared the first-round lead at 1-under in the South Central PGA Professional Championship at Tulsa Country Club.
The event has a purse of its own but also serves as a qualifier for the national 2024 PGA Professional Championship next April at PGA Frisco. Six South Central Section professionals will earn spots in that event, which will then serve as a qualifier for the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla.
The Section event continues with 18 holes Tuesday morning. The top 15 will play 18 additional holes Tuesday afternoon to determine the champion and the qualifiers.
One shot back of the leaders are Seth Garner of the Country Club of Little Rock and Justin Sellin of Blessings Golf Club. Jim Young of Gaillardia Country Club is at 1-over, followed by Trent Rommann of Crestview Country Club in Wichita and Tim Fleming of Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club at 2-over.
