Neisen’s ace helps Cowgirls finish eighth in Sugar Bowl
NEW ORLEANS – Oklahoma State senior Kenzie Neisen sank a hole-in-one in the final round of play to help the Cowgirl golf team finish in eighth place at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate in New Orleans.
Neisen used a 9-iron to record her first ace in a Cowgirl uniform, and it came on the 138-yard par 3 No. 3. The senior posted three other birdies to finish the day 3-under par 69 to jump 39 nine spots on the leaderboard to finish the tournament tied for 32nd place.
Overall, the Cowgirls finished eighth at 34-over 898. Florida won the event at 9-over 873, while Gator Sierra Brooks won the individual crown at 7-under 209.
Fellow senior Emma Broze finished tied for 11th place by posting 2-over par. This was Broze’s best finish of the 2017-18 season, which topped her 12th place finish at the Stanford Intercollegiate.
Chih-Min Chen carded a 3-over par in her final round and finished tied for 28th place at 10-over par.
Stephanie Astrup finished tied for 45th thanks to a 7-over par in her final round, while senior Alexis Sadeghy shot 6-over par and placed 58th on the leaderboard.
The Cowgirls will be back in action March 2-4 at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cover Golf Club in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
