NSU, Oklahoma Christian women tie for second out west
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The No. 22-ranked Northeastern State women’s golf team tied for second-place in the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate Tournament Tuesday. The tournament was played at the par-72, 5,995 yard Coldwater Golf Club.
The RiverHawks shot a 614 and tied for second-place in the final round of the tournament with Oklahoma Christian. Chico State claimed first-place after shooting one stroke ahead of team NSU, scoring a 613.
Northeastern State freshman Gabbi Shelton shot a 2-over par final round score of 74 to end with a total 150 and tie for fourth-place, while freshmen Baylee Price and Sofia Castiello each carded a 3-over par final round score of 76 to end the day with a 151 and tie for seventh-place.
Also scoring for NSU was sophomore Kayla Schroeder, who shot an 85 in the final round and tied for 58th with a 167. Junior Arizona Chin carded an 80 and tied for 66th to end the day with a 169.
The RiverHawks will be back in action October 7 and 8 to see play in the RCB Classic, hosted by Central Oklahoma at the Lincoln Park East Golf Club in Oklahoma City, Okla.
