NSU women ranked first in Central Region, Oklahoma Christian second in West
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA released its second of three regional women’s golf rankings Thursday afternoon, with Northeastern State moving up two spots to first in the Central Region. Oklahoma Christian is second in the West Region.
Central Oklahoma is third in the Central Region, with Rogers State fifth and Southwestern Oklahoma State sixth. Oklahoma Baptist is currently 10th.
The top-nine teams in each region and the four best individuals not on those teams will qualify for the NCAA Super Regionals. Teams from the Central Region will go to a Super Regional hosted by Missouri Western State at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo. on May 3-5. Oklahoma Christian will go to the West Super Regional, set for May 3-5 at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch in Denton, Texas.
The top three teams from each of four Super Regional tournaments will advance to the NCAA Division II Championship, set for May 11-15 at TPC Michigan in Detroit. OC qualified for the national event when it last was held in 2019.
This spring, the RiverHawks have finished in the top-three in all five tournaments, with a team win in Las Vegas. Freshman Yasmin Hang has taken medalist honors in two of those events.
