NSU women take second in Drury Panther Invitational, Maceli ties for second
BOLIVAR, Mo. – Northeastern State landed two golfers inside the top five on the individual leaderboard, highlighting a strong second day at the Silo Ridge Country Club, where the RiverHawks placed second in the Drury Panther Invitational with a 612 (312-300).
Leading the charge for NSU was Sam Maceli, who shot a 151 (77-74) to finish tied for second among all participants, marking her first top-five of her collegiate career. She also tied for the lead among individuals with 26 pars. As a team, Northeastern State led the field in pars (109), 12 more than the next highest.
Jessica Parker notched her first top-five as a RiverHawk, tying for fourth and shooting a 152 (77-75). Yasmin Hang finished just one stroke short of another top-ten result, tying for 11th with a 154 (79-75).
Marybeth Bellnap tied for 14th with a 155 (79-76), while Ines Diaz finished with a 158 (79-79).
Northeastern State entered the day tied for fourth with the hosting Drury Panthers after shooting a 312 in the opening round. Despite the 12-stroke improvement in the second round, the Panthers were able to sneak past the RiverHawks with a 298 to win the invitational.
NSU will round out September in Bartlesville for the Central Region Fall Preview, hosted by Rogers State next week.
