NSU’s Williamson honored by MIAA

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Brent Williamson was honored as the MIAA Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced Wednesday morning.

 The junior from Tulsa, Oklahoma, shot a career-low 215 (71-69-75) to finish a career-best T-6 at the Midwestern State Invitational Oct. 20-21. He helped lead Northeastern State to a season-best second-place finish at the event.

The 69 in the second round was his first career round in the 60’s. He also posted his fourth-career top-10 effort to collect his first-career weekly laurel.

The honor was the second of the fall for an NSU golfer. Sophomore Marc Johnson won the award Oct. 1.
