OCU leads lengthy state list with seven WGCA All-America Scholars
Seven Oklahoma City University golfers as well as four each from Rogers State and Oklahoma State  have been named Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars, the organization announced on Tuesday, joining many others from across the state.
For OCU, Lauren Behnken, Paige Wood, Maddi Kamas, Morgan Palermo, Rachel Eckert, Meghan Charles and Jamie Welsh were honored.
Marelda Ayal, Jessica Green, Raquel Flores and Ellen Loving all received the honor for RSU after their excellent work in the classroom during the 2021-2022 season. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. Recipients must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
Four Oklahoma State golfers made the list, including Lianna Bailey, Han-Hsuan Yu, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and Rina Tatematsu.
Honored for the University of Central Oklahoma were Kinsley Hall, Mika Ramos and Madison O’Dell. Lilly Thomas and Lovisa Gunnar from the University of Tulsa and Nina Lang from the University of Oklahoma were honored.
Rebecca Davis, Sara Armstrong and Parker Garrett of Southern Nazarene made the grade as did Macy Rutland and Kaylee Petersen of Northeastern State University.
