Oklahoma Wesleyan men, women tie for first at KCAC Tournament

WICHITA, Kan. – Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s golf tied for first at the KCAC Regular Season Tournament after a strong comeback at the Crestview Country Club.

The Eagles were in third place and five shots back of the leader, Bethany College, after Day 1 at Crestview CC. They compiled a team score of 302 in the second round to earn a tie with Bethany for the top spot.

Jack Pritchard led Oklahoma Wesleyan individually as he compiled a two-round score of 153 (+9). Pritchard rallied from sixth place to earn a second place finish overall. Nick Waite finished tied for sixth overall with a two-round total of 156 (+12). Keaton Divelbiss jumped up seven spots after Round 1 to finish tied for ninth with a two-round total score of 157 (+13).

Oklahoma Wesleyan will be back on the course on March 26th when it travels to Salina, Kan. for the Kansas Wesleyan Invitational at the Salina Country Club.

Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s golf earned their third straight tournament victory after tying for the top spot at the KCAC Regular Season Tournament at Crestview Country Club.

The Lady Eagles compiled total scores of 350 and 348 to finish with a combined score of 698 and tying with Kansas Wesleyan University.

These scores will be carried over to the KCAC Postseason Tournament at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course on April 23-24 in Garden City, Kansas to decided the overall conference champion.

Individually, Jordan Leonard was the top finisher for Oklahoma Wesleyan as she placed second with a combined two-round score of 165 (+21). Aspen Bryan from Bethany College won the individual title with a combined two-round score of 158 (+14).

Korena Aills, who led the field after Day 1, finished with a combined score of 167 (+23) and a 4th place finish. Kayla Hacker finished 7th overall with a combined score of 173 and +29 over par.

Oklahoma Wesleyan’s next tournament will be on March 26th at the Kansas Wesleyan Invitational at Salina Country Club in Salina, Kansas.
