SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts swept the latest TicketSmarter #SummitGF Peak Golfer of the Week accolades with Brandon Hoff capturing the male honor and Kate Strickland earning the female accolade, League officials announced Thursday.
Hoff won his third tournament of the season, posting back-to-back rounds of 68 to earn medalist honors at the Missouri State Intercollegiate. His efforts helped the Golden Eagles earn their second consecutive team title after winning the Bash at the Beach last week in Myrtle Beach.
ORU held on to defeat Wichita State by two strokes, while Hoff posted a 54-hole total of 208 (-5) to hold by Northern Illinois’ Ian Bruchhauser by two strokes as well.
The Austin, Texas native led the 83-player field with 13 birdies and in par-four scoring at -4. His rounds of 68 equaled his season low.
Strickland was the top Golden Eagle at the Bama Beach Bash, tying for 10th in the field of 81 to give her the best finish of her young career. She opened with an even-par 72 in a round that featured four birdies.
The Edmond, Okla., native finished with a 225 (+9) total as the Golden Eagles took sixth in the 15-team field.
