OSU freshman Tatematsu records first victory at ICON Invitational

HUMBLE, Texas – Freshman Rina Tatematsu notched her first career title in a third place team finish for the Oklahoma State women’s golf team at the ICON Invitational in Humble, Texas.

The win by Tatematsu, who competed as an individual, marks the second individual title by the Cowgirls this season, and she becomes the fourth Cowgirl to win an individual title under second-year head coach Greg Robertson. Her 14-under 202 ties for the third lowest 54-hole score in school history.

OSU finished in third place shooting 10-under 854, finishing behind LSU and Big 12 rival Baylor who took home the team title at 24-under 840.

Isabella Fierro finished in 8th place at 6-under 210 followed closely by teammate Maja Stark who ended the day in a tie for 12th place at 3-under 213.

Han-Hsuan Yu, Lianna Bailey and Maddison Hinson-Tolchard all had impressive showings for the Cowgirls finishing on par, 3-over and 5-over respectively.

The Cowgirls will return to the course on March 8-9 at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational In Tucson, Arizona.
