OSU opens in ninth in Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate
NEW ORLEANS, La.—Oklahoma State’s women’s golf team opened play at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate on Sunday with a 304 tally to stand in ninth place at English Turn Golf and Country Club.
With their16-over total, OSU came in three shots behind Arizona at the par-72, 6,189-yard layout. LSU was the lone team to break par on the day, finishing at 4-under285, which was good for a seven-shot cushion over the field.
LSU’s Madelene Sagstrom posted a 4-under 68 to lead the individual race by one shot.
A pair of Cowgirls finished the day inside the top 20. Freshman Kenzie Neisen and sophomore Isabella Deilert each signed for 2-over 74s to finish among the group of 12 players tied for 19th place.
Freshman Maddie McCrary carded a 76 to come in tied for 40th place, while classmate Alexis Sadeghy’s 80 tied her for 58th.
Sophomore Linnea Johansson’s 81 tied her for 67th place.
OSU will begin its second round tomorrow at 9 a.m. and will be grouped with Florida and Arizona.
