Owens edges Williamson in SCPGA Assistants’ Championship

Tanner Owens of The Patriot won a playoff over Brent Williamson of Forest Ridge Golf Course to win the National Car Rental South Central Section Assistants’ Championship at The Club at Indian Springs.

Owens shot rounds of 68-70 for a 6-under total of 138, while Williamson tied him at 71-67. Brad Simons of Litle Rock was third at 4-under, followed by Colton Staggs of South Lakes in Jenks at 3-under.

The playoff lasted five holes and Owens won with a birdie on the fifth. He made three birdies in the playoff while Williamson matched two of them.
