Peters rolls to SCS Yamaha Match Play Championship
Austin Peters put his talents and home course knowledge to good use, winning the Yamaha PGA South Central Section Match Play Championship Wednesday with a 5 and 4 victory over Jett Johnson of Gaillardia Country Club.
Except for his third-round match, a 1 up victory over Southern Hills Director of Golf Cary Cozby, Peters rolled through the tournament where he is the PGA Director of Golf. He downed Will Baird of Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club 6 and 5 in the second round and took out Shannon Friday of OKC G&CC 4 and 3 in the semifinals.
Johnson reached the finals with a 4 and 3 victory over Jim Young of Gaillardia Country Club.
