PGA Tour: Exciting Golf Tournaments to Follow and Bet in 2025

The 2025 PGA Tour season has several exciting spectacles already lined up, including some of the world’s most prestigious golf tournaments like the Masters and the U.S. Open. Once again, all eyes will be on legendary golf courses that have given us such unforgettable moments over the years. We look at some key tournaments lined up in 2025.

The Players Championship (March 13-16)

The Players Championship, often referred to as the fifth major, is set for mid-March at Ponte Vedra Beach’s TPC Sawgrass in Florida. Traditionally, this event attracts a strong field, a massive purse, and the 17th-hole island green, famed for providing some historic golf moments. Scottie Scheffler is the defending champion and a decent bet to secure a double in March. The Masters Tournament (April 10-13, 2025)

It feels so long before the first major of the year in April, but there will be plenty of action across multiple golf courses worldwide before then. The Masters tournament takes place at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. This tournament is famed for its rich tradition and is one of the most followed events in the world of golf. Scottie Scheffler will be seeking to win his third consecutive green jacket and to successfully put his name among the game’s greats.

PGA Championship (May 15-18)

The PGA Championship will return to North Carolina at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte in the middle of May. Quail Hollow has been a favorable hunting ground for some of the world’s top golfers, such as Rory McIlroy, who has won it more than once there, but he faces fierce competition for the Wanamaker Trophy.

U.S Open (June 12-15)

The U.S. Open is arguably one of the toughest, if not the toughest tests in golf, and this year’s edition is scheduled to take place at the notorious Oakmont Country Club court in Pennsylvania. The Oakmont Court is known for the grueling contests that it has hosted, pushing even the best golfers to their limits. Bryson DeChambeau is the U.S. Open defending champion and one of the favorites for the upcoming challenge.

The Open Championship (July 17-20)

The Open Championship is the oldest major in the golf calendar, and later this year, all roads lead to the Royal Portrush Golf Club, North Ireland. It is a historic golf course revered for the unpredictable Irish weather and certainly the perfect place to test the best golfers in the world. Local boy Shane Lowry won it here in 2019, and Irish fans will hope he can replicate the same performance and do it again.

FedExCup Playoffs

Other top golf events slated for later this year include three FedExCup playoff events in August. The FedEx St. Jude Championship will be held between August 7 and 10 at the TPC Southwind, Memphis, paving the way for the BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club, Maryland between August 14 and 17.

The playoffs conclude with the Tour Championship, scheduled for August 21 to 24 at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The season’s best golfers will battle it out for the prestigious FedExCup trophy.

Interestingly, the Ryder Cup does not fall under the regular PGA Tour schedule, but its profile makes it one of the most thrilling events in the golf calendar. This year’s event will be held in New York City at the Bethpage Black Course in September. Golf betting fans should expect an intense battle between Team USA and Team Europe in the ever-thrilling golf action.
