Pinnell promotes Oklahoma Golf Trail at NGCOA conference at PGA Show

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA (January 20, 2026) — Oklahoma Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell will showcase the Oklahoma Golf Trail and highlight golf’s impact on the Oklahoma economy this week at the National Golf Course Owners Association’s Golf Business Conference 2026, located at the PGA Show in Orlando, Florida.

Lt. Governor Pinnell will participate in a panel discussion on January 21, 2026, during the closing luncheon of the conference for golf course owners and operators.

He will also attend the opening day of the PGA Show, the golf industry’s premier trade show and largest gathering of golf professionals, equipment and merchandise vendors, and golf enthusiasts from around the world.

Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell discusses the Oklahoma Golf Trail with Rachel Carter and Ronnie Miles of the National Golf Course Owners Association at that group’s annual meeting in Orlando Wednesday.

“This is an incredible opportunity to promote Oklahoma and shine a light on our state’s rich golf heritage and exciting future with the Oklahoma Golf Trail.  Oklahoma is blessed with diverse and unique courses for golfers of all abilities, and this is a wonderful occasion to help position our state as a top-tier golf destination to golf industry professionals from around the world,” said Lt. Governor Pinnell.  “I am excited to take Oklahoma to the golf world and encourage the golf world to visit Oklahoma.”

In May 2022, House Bill 3647, authored by former Oklahoma State Representative Sheila Dills, was signed into law.  The bill created the Oklahoma Golf Trail Commission, a nine-member commission tasked with creating a list of 15-25 golf courses to become the official Oklahoma Golf Trail.  Dills serves as chair of the Oklahoma Golf Trail Commission.

Lt. Governor Pinnell played an active role in launching the Oklahoma Golf Trail in May 2025.  It currently consists of 18 courses, and the Oklahoma Golf Trail Commission is in discussions to add additional courses for the 2026 golf season.
