Politics, pop culture and sports collide on Swing Fit show Saturday
When politics, pop culture and sports collide, you wind up with this week’s edition of the Swing Fit Golf Oklahoma Radio Hour.
The USGA and LPGA are taking their lumps from protest groups for not moving the site of the U.S. Women’s Open away Trump National Golf Club, and with the president scheduled to attend starting Friday, it’s going to get interesting. Caught in the middle are the players who are trying to win their most important event, and retired Oklahoma State journalism professor Mike Sowell will join us to discuss if this is the proper venue to protest Donald Trump’s issues with women.
As for pop culture and sports, Ryan Chapman, the director of golf at Chickasaw Pointe, will be on to discuss what it was like when his course became the setting for a golf comedy television series In The Rough currently airing on Go90. https://www.go90.com/shows/0f45jDMGRTQ is a link to the show, but check your kids, it’s rated red, or R for raunchy.
The Swing Fit Golf Oklahoma Hour airs from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on The Tulsa Sports Animal, 97.1 FM. Hosts are Dave Sittler, Tracy Phillips and Ken MacLeod.
