Rogers State, Riverhawks in hunt at NSU Classic at Indian Springs

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Rogers State held second place and host Northeastern State was in third after the first round of the 22nd annual NSU Women’s Golf Classic Monday at The Club at Indian Springs.

Southwestern Oklahoma State and Oklahoma Baptist were tied for seventh. Live scoring is here: 

Henderson State shot 2-over and had an 4-shot lead over RSU and 11 shots over NSU.


For Rogers State, Jessica Green led the way with a 2-under 70. Marelda Ayal was close behind in fifth place with a card of 72 (E). Lydia Sitorus finished in a large group of 10 tied at 10th with a 75 (+3). Raquel Flores and Jaelynn Unger rounded out the team in a group of nine tied at 31st with a 77 (+5).

For NSU, Aitana Hernandez, Yasmin Hang and Macy Rutland each shot 75.

SNU in second in GAC Preview at Lake Hefner North

OKLAHOMA CITY – Southern Nazarene and Southeast Oklahoma State are well within striking range of first-round leader Harding University in the 2021 Great American Conference Preview at Lake Hefner (North Course).

SNU fired a tournament best 6-under in the second round to close with three shots of Harding entering today’s final round.

Brodey Clabornis led SNU with rounds 73-68. The 4-under 68 is a career-low for Claborn as his second round on Monday featured five birdies. Claborn turned to the back-nine with an even-par 36 before ripping off four birdies with no bogeys to come home in 32.

Southeastern’s Jordan Holifield shot 70-69 to lead at 5-under.

Oklahoma Christian’s B team – four of whom were playing in their first collegiate tournament – combined for 30 birdies and held their own for most of the day against more experienced squads before settling into sixth place after two rounds.

All six OC players – starters Ransen Turner, Chase Gardner, Nicholas Gimotty, Dominic Wade and Joey Lewis and Asher Clift, who competed as an individual – had at least one round in which they recorded at least three birdies.

Oral Roberts women lead in Payne Stewart Memorial

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Oral Roberts women’s golf teams leads by nine after 36 holes of the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial at Twin Oaks CC in Springfield, Mo.

LSU transfer Kiana Oshiro leads the Golden Eagles and is in second place overall, three shots off the lead at 1-under.  Sarah Bell is tied for sixth overall and is four-over par. Bell had five birdies on the day.

Oklahoma City University is in 10th place after two rounds. Freshman Reagan Chaney leads OCU at 151 strokes (78-73) on the par-71 course, good for a tie for 20th place. Freshman Jamie Welsh is tied for 24th at 153 (77-76) and freshman Paige Wood (75-79) and freshman Maddi Kamas (76-78) are tied for 33rd at 154 strokes. Senior Natalie Gough is tied for 44th with a 156 card (76-80).

ORU fifth in Kansas State Wildcat Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Oral Roberts men’s golf team sits in sixth after the first day of the K-State Wildcat Invitational Monday afternoon at Colbert Hills GC in Manhattan, Kan.

Rocco Repetto-Taylor leads the Golden Eagles at 4-over 148, while Jared Strathe of Owasso is tied for 23rd at 151 with teammate Delbert Brooks. The Golden Eagles will compete in the final round today.
