RSU men win shortened Jack Brown Memorialk

LAREDO, Texas – Winter weather, including temperatures in the mid-30s and a misting rain, in Laredo was coupled with much worse road conditions in Central and North Texas caused Texas A&M International to cancel the final day of the Jack Brown Memorial at the Laredo Country Club.
 
With eight of the men’s and women’s total 14 teams hailing from north of San Antonio, the decision was made to eliminate the men’s third round of play and the women’s second round of play. The final results stand with the men’s 36-totals and the women’s 18-hole totals.
 
Rogers State’s men (287-306–593) won the team competition with a two-round total of 17-over par. Texas A&M-Commerce (298-309–607) finished in second, while the Dustdevils Maroon Team (301-307–608) took third. McMurry (303-312–615) finished in fourth, St. Thomas (310-314–624) took fifth and the Dustdevils Silver Team (303-330–633) came in sixth. South Texas College (348-367–715)
 
On the women’s side, Midwestern State shot a 22-over 310 to finish 23 strokes ahead of second place Arkansas-Forth Smith (333, +45). Rogers State (334) finished in third with TAMIU (336) just two-strokes behind in fourth place. McMurry (340), Texas A&M-Kingsville (345) and the University of Texas at Brownsville (365) finished in fifth through seventh, respectively.
 
Rogers State returns to action Feb. 17-18 when the men travel to the San Antonio Shootout at TPC San Antonio while the women take part in the St. Mary’s Invitational in San Antonio, Texas held at Dominion Golf Course.
