The indoor golf and entertainment options continue to expand in the Tulsa area with the November opening of Scratch Indoor Golf in Bixby’s rapidly expanding Downtown River District.

Scratch Indoor Golf offers five large bays and three smaller ones for groups and individuals to hone their skills and enjoy great courses from around the world. The simulators are from Golfzon, the same technological marvels with moving plates as used at Birdie Bay Golf in south Tulsa, which opened in 2022.

The manager and partner in the ownership group is Austin Wojciechowski, a 30-year-old golf enthusiast, former actor and current real estate professional and businessman. It’s a family project with his father Tod, mother Cindy, wife Gatlin and mother-in-law Wendi Green all involved as investors and in different business areas.

The facility is roomy with a comfortable upscale ambiance. In addition to the bays it has a full bar and restaurant with seating for nearly 50 outside the bays and a menu offering salads, pizza, Panini sandwiches and a variety of shareables from cheese bites to nachos, quesadillas, wings, potato skins, pickle sticks and more.

Austin, who grew up on a ranch in the Texas Hill Country, and Gatlin met in California as aspiring actors and moved to Bixby in 2019, bringing a production company with them from California. During Covid, however, that went away and he was drawn into real estate. A golf enthusiast but self-described hacker, he and father Tod came up with the idea to invest in the indoor simulator entertainment market which is exploding across the country.

“We inked the deal on the simulators in March, broke ground on the building in June and opened Nov. 30, about a nine-month process,” Austin said. “It was very important for me to get it open before the winter and take advantage of the colder weather.”

Austin says those who frequent facilities like his and Birdie Bay are hybrids between off-course golfers who do not go to green grass facilities like many of the customers at a Top Golf or Golf Suites and those who do play regularly outdoors looking for a different experience or to play during inclement weather.

“As of last year there are more off course golfers than on course,” Austin said. “I don’t see us competing with golf courses. It’s more of a holistic addition in my mind. The technology for the simulators has reached the point where it’s not a work-around, it’s a real fun golf experience and we’re drawing more serious golfers. But we also have the arcade mode that a lot of non-golfers enjoy.”

The clubs available for golfers to use are high end, such as Taylormade Stealth Two drivers and fairway woods and p790 irons.

The location is in a former paper company building tastefully redone. Currently under construction in the River District are a 140-unit apartment complex, a four-story Hilton Hotel, a performance arts center and much new shopping, dining and retail. Austin said Scratch Indoor Golf is well positioned to capitalize on the growth of Bixby’s relatively new entertainment district.

“The area is just exploding,” he said. “Houses, businesses, offices. And south of the (Arkansas) river there was very little to do to support that growth as far as entertainment. We think we’ll be a huge boon to the community,”

Scratch Indoor Golf is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It is available to rent for group events and parties. For more information, go to or call 918-364-4653.
