EDMOND, Okla. (March 18, 2019) – Zach James shot rounds of 67-70 and is tied for third, lifting Southeastern Oklahoma State into second place, one shot behind St. Mary’s entering the final round of the RCB Bank Broncho Invitational on Oak Tree Country Club’s East Course.

Hayden Foster is right behind James with rounds of 68-71 to hold the fifth spot, while Jordan Holifield is tied for sixth at 140 (72-68).

In danger of falling too far behind after the first round of the Broncho Invitational, Oklahoma Christian responded with a solid second round that put the Eagles right back in contention.

OC’s 284 in the second round on Oak Tree Country Club’s East Course gave the 12th-ranked Eagles an overall score of 571, in third place in the 16-team field, five shots behind No. 9 St. Mary’s (Texas) and four behind Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Host UCO is in sixth place at 579 as Joe Lemieux is 10th at 141 (71-70). Southern Nazarene is ninth and Southwestern Oklahoma State is 12th.

The Eagles also will have a contender for the individual title, as junior Trevor Norby of Carlsbad, Calif., shot a 5-under-par 65 – the best round of the day in the 96-man field – in the second round, recording six birdies against only one bogey. That round came after an opening-round 70 and put him at 5-under 135, tied with Emilio Gonzales of St. Mary’s for the lead.

Andres Brictson, who had five birdies in a seven-hole stretch while posting a 67. He shot an 80 in the second round and was tied for 35th at 147. One shot ahead of him was OC senior Cameron Brown, who had steady rounds of 74 and 72 on the 7,102-yard course. He was tied for 31st.

The final round will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
