Smith edges Napier, former Sooner Hale to win The Territory Classic
Brandon Smith of Frisco, Texas, closed with a 4-under 68 to move to 18-under through 72 holes and edge Tanner Napier of Paris, Texas and former Oklahoma Sooner Blane Hale of Dallas by a single shot to win The Territory Classic on the All Pro Tour, held at The Territory near Duncan.
Smith collected $21,500 for the victory on the professional tour that serves as a feeder tour for the Korn Ferry Tour.
Hale finished a shot ahead of an old college competitor in former Oklahoma State golfer Zach Bauchou of Forest, Va. Bauchou tied for fourth with Derek Oland of Plano, Texas at 16 under.
Other Oklahomans in the field included Tyson Reeder of Edmond, who tied for seventh at 14 under. Former Sooner Jonathan Brightwell tied for 13th at 11 under.
The APT will make two more stops in Oklahoma. The Real Okie Championship is May 17-20 at Muskogee Golf Club and the Eagle Ops Championship is June 14-17 at The Club at Indian Springs in Broken Arrow.
