Son, OU’s Ruiz qualify for U.S. Women’s Amateur
Yujeong Son of Norman was one of six golfers to shoot 3-under par 69 and qualify for the U.S. Women’s Amateur at a sectional qualifier at Bridlewood Golf Club in Flower Mound, Texas Monday.
Ana Ruiz of the University of Oklahoma Sooners also shot 69 and is in the field for the Aug. 7-13 event at San Diego Country Club.
Among those who did not qualify were OU’s Rylee Pedigo (71), OU’s Hannah Wood (72), Oklahoma State’s Maddie McCrary (72) and Kenzie Niesen (74), and Bailey Blake of Edmond (85).
