Stanford III outlasts Bonaobra, Hart to win Lakeside Spring Challenge

Ainslie Stanford III of Edmond won a five-hole playoff with Samuel Bonaobra of Broken Arrow to win the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour’s Lakeside Spring Challenge in Stillwater Sunday. Porter Hart of Broken Arrow was also in the playoff but was eliminated on the fourth hole.

All three golfers shot 3-under 67 in the event shortened to one round by rain on Saturday. Seth Gillliam of McAlester and Wyatt Basford of tied for fourth at 1-under.

Naomi Koontz of Newton, Kan., shot a 2-under 68 to win the girls division by five shots over Maggie Ruby of Stillwater with a 73. Alina Lam of Wichita and Amy Reavis of Stillwater were next with 74s while Kate Dixon of Tulsa and Reagan Plank of Owasso tied for fifth at 75.
