Matt Wilson, the superintendent at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, has joined another former Hillcrest superintendent Chris Wilson (no relation) on the staff at Los Angeles Country Club, which will be the site of the U.S. Open in 2023.

Hillcrest has announced that Jason Judd from Meadowbrook Country Club in Tulsa is the new superintendent at Hillcrest CC. Judd was lauded for the excellent conditions in recent years at Meadowbrook, which last year was purchased by a local developer who announced plans to shut the course within two years.

Matt Wilson was the superintendent at Hillcrest from 2010 to 2018, succeeding Chris Wilson (2008-2010). Previously Ed Brookshire served in that role from 1970-2008.

Josh Cook, who has been superintendent at Oak Tree National in Edmond, recently accepted a post as Pensacola (Fla.) Country Club, the oldest club in the state. Cook will begin his new position in mid March. He came to Oak Tree in 2012 and was credited with helping restore the condition of the bent grass greens in time for a successful hosting of the 2014 U.S. Senior Open.

Oak Tree National is expected to name a replacement for Cook this week.
