SWOSU in tie for fourth, RSU’s Palmowski in top 10 in Central/Midwest Regional

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Southwestern Oklahom State sits in a tie for fourth after the first round of the NCAA D2 Central/Midwest Regional at Shoal Creek Golf Club.

The top four teams in the 54-hole Super Regional will advance to the NCAA Division II Championship later this month.

Kason Cook led the way with a first-round 1-under 70 and is tied for seventh. Gregor Weck shot 72, Anders Strang 76 and Heston Brown 76.

Rogers State’s Luke Palmowski is in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard after day one.

Palmowski, golfing as an individual this week, shot an even par round of 71 to sit in a tie for 10th overall in the 86-golfer field.

Palmowski sits four shots off the overall lead after day one, held by Ian Barnes of Central Missouri, who shot -4. Five players sit in second at -2, with three more players tied for seventh at -1.

Palmowski will be back in action on Friday and will be in one of the later groups to tee off, set to go at 11:00 a.m. on hole 10.
